New Road Approved to Connect Delhi and Gurugram, Multiple Expressways to be Developed in Haryana

Haryana's Road Infrastructure Set for Major Upgrades: Detailed Project Reports Approved for Multiple Bypasses, Corridors, and Expressways

Providing details about Haryana’s new road projects, he informed that the Union Minister has instructed officials to prepare a DPR (Detailed Project Report) for the development of the Kurukshetra Bypass, the Pehowa-Kurukshetra-Yamunanagar Corridor, and the Ladwa Bypass. Similarly, a modern design will be prepared for the construction of an elevated section spanning from 0 to 12 km in the urban area of the Faridabad-Jewar Greenfield Expressway.

Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh stated that Wednesday is a day of joy for the people of Haryana, as Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has given his approval to commence work on various new roads passing through the state. He mentioned that approval has been granted to prepare DPRs (Detailed Project Reports) for the construction of nearly a dozen new roads today.

The Chief Minister was addressing the media on Wednesday after a meeting with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, regarding various new road projects related to Haryana in New Delhi. He stated that there is no district in Haryana where a four-lane expressway or a greenfield expressway does not pass through. This continuous development of new road networks aims to build excellent infrastructure across the state, making people’s lives easier and more convenient.

Providing updates on Haryana’s new road projects, he mentioned that the Union Minister has instructed officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the development of the Kurukshetra Bypass, the Pehowa-Kurukshetra-Yamunanagar Corridor, and the Ladwa Bypass. Additionally, a modern design will be implemented for constructing an elevated section, spanning 0 to 12 kilometres in the urban area of the Faridabad-Jewar Greenfield Expressway. This will ensure smooth traffic flow and serve its purpose for the next 25 to 50 years. Furthermore, an entry and exit ramp will be built at Mohana village on the same expressway, meeting the local community’s long-standing demand for improved connectivity to the area.

Naib Singh shared that to reduce traffic congestion between Gurugram and Delhi, the Union Minister has directed officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for providing connectivity from Nelson Mandela Road in Delhi to MG Road, Gurugram’s intersections, and Faridabad Road. This will help ease traffic at Delhi Airport and the entry points of Gurugram. Additionally, he mentioned that discussions were held with the Union Minister regarding the widening and upgrading of the Gurugram-Farukh Nagar-Jhajjar new road.

The Chief Minister informed that discussions were held regarding the relocation of the Kherki Daula Toll Plaza in Gurugram, with plans to explore alternative arrangements using modern technology. Similarly, an agreement was reached to construct an interchange at the junction of KMP and the Bawana-Sonipat Highway, which will provide direct connectivity between KMP and UER-2 (Delhi). The Union Minister showed keen interest in this project and directed officials to expedite its implementation. Additionally, the construction of a flyover at Bilaspur Chowk, Gurugram (NH-48), will commence soon, with repairs already carried out for the convenience of travellers.

The Chief Minister informed that the Union Minister has directed the preparation of a DPR for the construction of the East-West Expressway (from Dabwali to Panipat) for Haryana. He also mentioned that the Haryana segment of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway will be inaugurated soon, and the Delhi-Katra Expressway, which currently begins at KMP, will be extended up to UER-2 in Delhi.

The Chief Minister announced that the Union Minister has approved the connection of the old NH-73 (new NH-344) in Ambala district, Haryana, from km 118.792 to 125.978 (Saha Bypass). He mentioned that the Union Minister has instructed officials to prepare a DPR to cover the missing point at Saha Chowk. Additionally, he stated that approval has been granted today to prepare a ring road to relieve traffic congestion in Hisar, and the DPR for this alternative new road will be prepared soon.

On this occasion, Haryana’s Public Works Minister, Ranbir Gangwa, BJP State President Mohanlal Badoli, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary V. Umashankar, Chief Minister’s Principal Advisor for Urban Development D.S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Urban and Planning Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of the Public Works Department Anurag Agarwal, and Chief Minister’s Media Advisor Rajiv Jetli were present. Also in attendance were Santosh Kumar Yadav, Chairman of the National Highways Authority, along with officials from the central and Haryana governments, all of whom play a role in facilitating the development of new roads in the state.
