Micro observers should observe the entire process from the mock poll to the end of voting.

Micro observers play a pivotal role in ensuring transparent and fair elections, with duties ranging from overseeing the mock poll to reporting hourly voter data, as per guidelines set by Returning Officer Ravindra Kumar.

During the start of voting, attention must also be paid to the sealing of the control unit of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). He mentioned that all micro observers should keep an eye on the polling agents to ensure they were present during the mock poll. Additionally, they will continue to match the figures from the Electronic Voting Machine and the voter register every hour.

The final training for the micro observers appointed for the Assembly General Elections was conducted on Thursday by the Returning Officer and SDM Ravindra Kumar at the Gurgaon Assembly. During the training program held at the Freedom Fighter District Council Hall in Civil Lines, SDM Ravindra Kumar discussed the checklist of all key points that the micro observers need to fill out, stating that everyone must observe the entire process from the mock poll to the end of voting.

Returning Officer Ravindra Kumar, while providing information about the entire voting process and the duties and responsibilities of all micro observers during the training program, emphasised that micro observers play a crucial role in conducting free, fair, and transparent elections. He instructed everyone to reach the polling station on October 5 at the time set by the Election Commission and to closely observe the entire voting process, including the mock poll.

Attention must also be paid to the sealing of the control unit of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) from the mock poll to the beginning of the actual voting. He stated that all micro observers should keep an eye on the polling agents to ensure their presence during the mock poll. Additionally, they will continue to match the figures from the Electronic Voting Machine and the voter register every hour.

This is to ensure that the voting status remains clear. A report must also be provided on how many voters were present in the queue between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. After that, the number of voters who were present at the last moment and received tokens from the presiding officer will also be noted. Additionally, the total number of votes cast and the percentage of voter turnout will be recorded.

The Returning Officer instructed all micro observers to ensure that they continuously report every activity happening at the polling station to the district headquarters. He emphasised that all micro observers should also keep an eye on the confidentiality maintained during the voting process. They must ensure proper sealing of the EVMs and other records after the voting is completed. He stated that if a micro observer suspects any irregularities during the voting process, they should immediately inform the General Observer. During this occasion, various concerns of the micro observers were also addressed
