As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, in Gurugram district’s Badshahpur, Pataudi, Sohna, and Gurgaon assembly constituencies, voters over the age of 85 and those with more than 40% disabilities will cast their votes at their residences on September 27 and 29.
District Election Officer and DC Nishant Kumar Yadav, while sharing this information, stated that for voters who are unable to come to the polling booth, the Election Commission has provided the facility of home voting. From September 2 to 10, BLOs visited homes and assisted elderly and disabled voters in filling out Form 12D. In all four assembly constituencies, BLOs distributed these forms to 1,084 elderly and 121 disabled citizens. Later, 1,076 elderly and 97 disabled voters expressed their consent to cast their votes from home.
He informed that election campaigning is currently underway in all assembly constituencies, and voting will take place on October 5. Before that, on September 27 and 29, teams of employees and officials will visit the homes of elderly and disabled voters who submitted Form 12D to complete the home voting process while ensuring voting confidentiality. A total of 1,173 voters will cast their votes in this manner. The candidates will also be informed about this, and if they wish, they can send a representative or personally observe the home voting from a distance.
