Chemist Owner Flees the Scene; Narcotic Capsules Hidden in Shop’s Ceiling, Case Registered
Tawadu: The district administration has intensified its efforts against drug abuse. Recently, a viral video on social media showing the purchase of banned capsules caught the attention of authorities.
Acting on strict orders from the Additional Deputy Commissioner, a team from the Drug Control Department raided a chemist shop on Nuh’s Tawadu Road. During the operation, the team uncovered 17,760 banned capsules and 104 bottles of narcotic syrup, hidden inside the shop’s ceiling.
The chemist’s owner fled the scene before authorities could apprehend him. Following the raid, the city police registered a case based on the Drug Control Officer’s statement and have launched an investigation.
District Drug Control Officer Harish Singh stated that the viral video had been shared by an awareness team highlighting the illegal sale of banned capsules.
On the Additional Deputy Commissioner’s directive, a team arrived at Asian Pharmacy Chemist on Tawadu Road, where they found the owner, Saikul Hadees along with two of his assistants.
Upon verification, the team discovered that the store’s drug license had been canceled two years ago by the Drug Control Department. The police were immediately informed and called to the scene.
Upon further investigation, authorities discovered 17,760 banned capsules and 104 narcotic syrups concealed within the ceiling of the second floor of the shop. During the raid, the chemist owner, Saikul Hadees, managed to escape.
The confiscated drugs are estimated to be worth ₹1.5 lakh, and no records or bills were found at the location. The chemist shop has been sealed, and further legal action is underway.
The city police have registered a case against the accused chemist owner Saikul Hadees, and an investigation is in progress.
