Delhi-Mumbai Expressway’s Delhi Section to Open, Cutting Travel Time Significantly

Newly Opened Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to Ease Traffic, Reduce Travel Time from Delhi to Sohna to Just 25 Minutes

The Delhi section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is expected to open to the public on November 12. This will provide relief to travelers going from Delhi to Mathura, Palwal, and Sohna, as it will reduce traffic congestion on the roads. A journey that currently takes two and a half hours will be completed in just 25 minutes. The expressway is six lanes wide, and two new bridges have been built over the Agra and Gurgaon canals.

With the opening of the expressway and bridges, traffic jams on Mathura Road will be completely eliminated. Officials say this is not just an alternative route but a permanent solution to the severe traffic congestion on Mathura Road. The new expressway runs along the Yamuna River, passing through crowded areas like Yamuna Khadar, Okhla Vihar, and Batla House. Its lower section is built near Maharani Bagh and crosses the road close to the Ashram entry on the DND Flyway.

This project has cost ₹5,500 crore and will make travel easier to Faridabad, Palwal, and Sohna, saving people time. Currently, it takes 2.5 hours to reach Sohna from Maharani Bagh, but with the expressway, the travel time will be reduced to just 25 minutes.
