Construction of Over 36 Roads to Begin from February 15  

Punhana: The municipal administration of Punhana is set to spend over ₹2 crore on the construction of broken and dilapidated roads in the municipal area. Some road construction work has already begun following the approval in the general meeting of the municipality.

The tendering process for approximately 36 roads was completed in the last week of January, and work on these roads is set to begin soon after February 15.

Once completed, these roads will not only relieve residents from damaged paths but also help mitigate waterlogging issues in the city.  

Punhana Municipality consists of 14 wards, including Patakpur, Patpar Bas, Bas Dalla, and Nakanpur villages. Residents have been waiting for road and infrastructure development for a long time.

In a recent municipal meeting, councilors proposed road construction projects for their respective wards.

Following this, the government sanctioned over ₹2 crore for the construction of more than 36 roads. Previously, roads worth approximately ₹1 crore had already been constructed.

According to sources, the tendering process for these roads concluded in January, and the lowest-bidding agency will undertake the work.  

Roads to Be Constructed in These Wards  

– Ward 1: Construction of three roads (from Usman’s house to Abdul’s house, from Zahida Madam’s house to Hafeez Fauji’s house, and from Farooq’s house to Razak’s house) at a cost of ₹20.56 lakh.  

– Ward 2: Three roads (Dinu Secretary’s lane, from Jameel’s house to Raheesh’s house, and from Haji Lallu’s house to Havaldar’s house) at ₹20.48 lakh.  

– Ward 3: Three roads (from the main road to the cemetery and two others) at ₹14.28 lakh.  

– Ward 4: Construction of the cremation ground boundary wall, lighting, and tiling at the entrance at ₹17.96 lakh.  

– Ward 5: Road from Idris’s house to Sarai Mosque at ₹19.61 lakh.  

– Ward 6: Two roads (from Akbar’s house to Farid’s house and the mosque, and from Subhan’s house to Asru’s house) at ₹16.71 lakh.  

– Ward 7: One road (from the temple to Waheed Master’s house) at ₹12.55 lakh.  

– Ward 8: Three roads (from Krishna Arya’s house to Vijay Pandit’s house, from Brahmpal’s house to Mukesh Gulaltia’s house, and from Vinod’s shop to Dinesh Doodhiya’s house) at ₹9.64 lakh.  

– Ward 9: One road (from Anil Master’s house to Zakri Chaat Wale) at ₹6.63 lakh.  

– Ward 10: Five roads (from Guttan’s house to Jurheda Road, from Khalil’s house to Lalaram Master’s house, from Yakub’s house to Asru’s house, from Mahmood Sarpanch’s house to Kamaluddin’s house, and from Rahmuddin’s house to Abdul Karim’s house) at ₹20.85 lakh.  

– Ward 11: One road (from Naseem’s house to Haroon’s house) at ₹6.93 lakh.  

– Ward 13: Two roads (Kale Boot Wali Gali and Pankaj Kharbanda Wali Gali) at ₹21.80 lakh.
