Just two days ago, the investigation agency submitted the report on Tower A to the builder, which also deemed Tower A uninhabitable. The builder will submit this report to the Deputy Commissioner, following which further action will be taken.
The structural report of Tower A in Chintels Society has revealed that it is also unfit for habitation. The builder will soon submit the report to the society’s RWA and the district administration, after which a decision will be made. It is noteworthy that the builder had commissioned a structural audit of Towers A, B, and C to CSIR-CBRI. The report for Tower A has been received, indicating that it is unsafe and not suitable for residents.
The report released in August indicated that Tower C was deemed unsafe. The report for Tower B has not yet been received. Out of the nine towers in the society, the government has currently declared six towers as unsafe. The builder is expected to submit the report to the Deputy Commissioner within one or two days.

It should be noted that two women lost their lives in an incident at Tower D of Chintels Society on February 10, 2022. Following this tragedy, a team from IIT Delhi was assigned the responsibility of conducting a structural audit of the towers. The investigation deemed Towers D, E, F, G, and H unsafe, and demolition actions are currently underway for these towers.

In the meantime, demolition work for the five unsafe towers in Chintels Society is ongoing. This process includes removing and relocating centralised electricity, water, and fire systems from the unsafe towers. Following this, Edifice Company will commence large-scale demolition work. On the other hand, families residing in Tower J have not yet vacated their flats, and demolition work for this tower will also begin soon.

According to the RWA, no action has yet been taken by the administration regarding Towers C and A, meaning the report is still with the builder. They assert that a third-party assessment of Towers A, B, and C should be conducted. They emphasise that out of the nine towers, six have been deemed unsafe.
