The Commissioner of the Gurugram Municipal Corporation, Dr. Narhari Singh Bangad, stated that maintaining a better sanitation system in the area is the primary responsibility of the municipal corporation. He emphasised that efforts to make the area cleaner will be accelerated. The commissioner made these remarks during a meeting with officials at his office on Friday.
The commissioner instructed all officials involved in sanitation, including the joint commissioner, to regularly visit the area. They will ensure that regular sanitation services are in place and that waste collection is conducted efficiently. He clearly instructed that waste should not be dumped at any location other than the designated spots.

The commissioner stated that there is a need to increase surveillance on incidents of garbage burning. Monitoring teams will ensure that if garbage is set on fire in their respective areas, an FIR will be registered at the concerned police station. This will enable the police to take action against the offenders. He mentioned that burning garbage releases various gases and smoke, which not only pollutes the environment but also poses a risk of eye and respiratory illnesses.
Regarding the bulk waste generators located in the municipal area, the commissioner stated that all BWGs must dispose of their waste in compliance with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016. Officials will inspect the BWGs in their respective areas, and fines will be imposed on those found not adhering to the regulations.
During the meeting, the commissioner also instructed addressing the issue of stray animals. Additionally, he emphasised ensuring the collection of horticultural waste and quickly resolving complaints regarding sewage overflow, as well as replacing broken sewage covers.
Present at the meeting were CTP and Additional Commissioner Zone-2 Satish Parashar, Chief Engineer Manoj Yadav, Joint Commissioners Akhilesh Yadav and Suman Bhankhar, CMO Dr. Ashish Singla, Executive Engineer Nitesh Kumar, along with senior sanitation inspectors and other officials.
