District Collector Nishant Kumar Yadav has imposed a ban on the production, sale, and use of firecrackers containing barium salts from October 22 to January 31 to maintain air quality. Only green crackers can be used for a limited time on Diwali, Gurpurab, and Christmas.
In an order issued today, District Collector Nishant Kumar Yadav stated that, according to a Supreme Court ruling, excessive use of firecrackers can lead to environmental pollution, which causes significant distress for respiratory patients. Following government guidelines and recommendations from the Haryana Pollution Control Board, a ban has been imposed on the sale and production of firecrackers to control air pollution.

Similarly, on Christmas Eve, green crackers can be used from 11:55 PM to 12:30 AM. In the order issued under the Indian Civil Defence Code and the Explosives Act, the District Collector stated that the production and sale of loud firecrackers and strings of firecrackers will also be prohibited.
The air pollution index can increase by ten points due to firecrackers. He stated that officials from the Pollution Control Board will monitor the air index. Officers from the police, municipal corporation, fire department, and panchayat will ensure that there is no sale of firecrackers in the markets and that no firecrackers are manufactured in factories anywhere.
