More than a thousand police personnel have been deployed inside and outside the polling stations. Additionally, every activity will be monitored through CCTV cameras. Robust security arrangements have been made, and the police are also keeping a close watch on suspicious individuals.
District Election Officer Nishant Kumar Yadav and Police Commissioner Vikas Arora inspected the counting centres for all four assembly constituencies set up in the premises of Government Girls College and provided instructions to the officials regarding security arrangements. DC Nishant Kumar Yadav stated that all candidates’ counting agents must bring Form 17C with them on the morning of October 8.
The form includes the number of votes cast on October 5, which is recorded at each booth. Counting agents are advised not to bring any other items such as mobile phones, watches, calculators, keys, etc. He stated that each counting centre should have a separate and appropriate arrangement for the candidates to sit. After the counting results are declared, the Election Officer will issue the certificate of election to the winning candidate at the counting centre itself.
Vehicle parking arrangements for candidates will be made in the ITI campus. Police Commissioner Vikas Arora stated that only those individuals who possess an authorised pass from the district administration or the Election Commission will be allowed entry into the counting centre. On Tuesday, no person will be permitted to stand unnecessarily near College Road or inside the counting centre.
He instructed the police officials to check each individual before allowing entry into the counting centre. On this occasion, all election officials, the DCP, and administrative officers were present.
