Haryana Elections 2024: Voting concluded for all four assembly seats in Gurugram, voter enthusiasm was higher last time.

Gurugram District Records 57.9% Voter Turnout in Haryana Assembly Elections 2024; Highest Participation in Sohna with 70.8% Votes

In Gurugram district, a total of 8,71,399 voters cast their votes across all assembly seats. In the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024, the four seats in Gurugram district witnessed a 57.9 percent voter turnout. The highest turnout was recorded in the Sohna Assembly constituency, with 70.8 percent votes cast. The counting of votes will take place on October 8 at the Government Women’s College located in Sector 14. The official voting information will only be released after the final report is submitted by the polling teams.

Haryana Election 2024: In the assembly elections, a 57.9 percent voter turnout was recorded on Saturday across the district’s four assembly seats – Gurgaon, Badshahpur, Sohna, and Pataudi. The district has a total of 15,04,959 registered voters, out of which 8,71,399 cast their votes. According to the district administration, the official voting information will only be released after the final report is submitted by the polling teams.

Voting in Badshahpur:
The highest voter turnout was recorded in the Sohna Assembly constituency, with 70.8 percent. Gurugram District Election Officer Nishant Kumar Yadav reported that in the Badshahpur Assembly constituency, 2,82,732 voters exercised their right to vote, which is 54.3 percent of the total 5,20,958 registered voters.

Voting in Pataudi and Gurgaon:

Similarly, in the Pataudi Assembly constituency, 1,57,564 voters cast their votes, which is 61.8 percent of the total 2,54,780 registered voters. Meanwhile, in the Gurgaon Assembly constituency, 2,28,424 voters participated in the election, amounting to 51.6 percent of the total 4,43,102 registered voters.

Voting in Sohna:

In the Sohna Assembly constituency, 1,96,341 voters exercised their right to vote, which is 68.6 percent of the total 2,86,119 registered voters. In the 2019 Assembly elections, Gurugram had a voter turnout of 62.3 percent, while in the Lok Sabha elections held the same year, 60.7 percent of the electorate cast their votes.

40% Voter Turnout by 3 PM
In Cyber City (Gurgaon), 40 percent voter turnout was recorded by 3 PM during the assembly elections. Voters began arriving at the booths from 7 AM, and by 8:30 AM, 2.9 percent of the votes had been cast. This time, 126 polling booths were set up in high-rise societies to ensure voters didn’t have to travel far to cast their votes. However, by 8 AM, only a few voters were seen in these societies, and there wasn’t much crowd throughout the day.

On the other hand, several booths in the old city saw long queues of voters by 12:30 PM. By 11 AM, 16.6 percent of the votes had been cast, which increased to 26.9 percent by 12:45 PM. By 2:30 PM, the turnout was 36.9 percent, and by 3 PM, it reached 40.3 percent.

  • Overall: 57.9%

Vote Counting on October 8 at Government Women’s College:
The vote counting will take place on October 8 at the Government Women’s College located in Sector 14. After voting concluded, the polling parties from all four assembly constituencies arrived at the Women’s College. Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav inspected the college premises late in the evening. The EVMs from all four constituencies will be kept in the strong room at this location until the counting day.
